Pottstown Easter Fair delights in Riverfront Park

POTTSTOWN — The cold spring we’ve been experiencing took a break Saturday, providing warm temperatures for the Easter Fair held in Riverfront Park.

The event was organized by Pottstown Community Arts.

For the youngest, ages 0 to 2, Mother Goose Read-to-Me hosted a storytime every half hour, starting at 1:30 p.m. After storytime, children hunted for eggs, as many as they wanted. The eggs were turned into a volunteer for two prizes — a bag full of candy and a free age-appropriate book from Mother Goose Read-to-Me.

For the Pre-K and elementary school kids, ages 3-8, a continuous egg hunt was held and kids found eggs all along the storybook walk, sponsored by the Pottstown Regional Public Library. Eggs were turned in to a volunteer for two prizes: a bag full of candy and one free book from the NAACP’s Road to Reading.

Stations were set up for the youth aged 8 and up. Here, they earned their eggs by making a craft, by winning a yard game, or by learning a new skill. Once eggs were collected, they were turned in for a bag filled with candy as well as a chance to win two prizes: a pool pass from North End Swim Club and/or a free week of summer camp with Spring Mountain Camp.
