Coach of the Year – Luke McNichol, West Chester Henderson

Not much was expected of the West Chester Henderson baseball team this season. The Warriors were largely a young and inexperienced team with not a lot of pitching depth. But Warriors coach Luke McNichol ,kept schooling his young squad and making the necessary adjustments to the lineup card.

All Henderson did was to reach the District 1 6A championship game and qualify for the PIAA 6A playoffs. It is for these accomplishments that Luke McNichol is the Daily Local News 2025 Baseball Coach of the Year.

“The kids worked their tails off all season to get better,” McNichol said. “They put in the work every day in practice and they wanted to get better. We, as a team, accomplished more than maybe was expected.”

McNichol has more than 400 career wins and a PIAA championship in 2010 but this season’s work might have been one of his best in his 38 years at the helm of the Warriors.
