Pa. state police trooper shot in Chester County
A Pennsylvania state police trooper was shot Sunday night in Chester County, according to multiple reports.
Chester County 911 dispatch confirmed to CBS Philadelphia that the shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. near Compass and Michael roads in West Caln Township. The trooper was taken to Paoli Hospital, according to the report.
The trooper’s condition is unknown, according to NBC Philadelphia.
Compass Road, which is Route 10, is closed between Hill Road and Lammey Road, according to a post on X by the Chester County Department of Emergency Services.
Chester County Commissioner Eric Roe, in a post on Facebook, said the shooting occurred during a traffic stop. He asked for prayers for the trooper.
“Chester County’s brave police officers put their lives on the line for us every day,” Roe said. “I thank all of them for their extraordinary bravery and sacrifice. May God save this state trooper.”
