A. Duie Pyle expands its footprint in Maine

WEST GOSHEN — A. Duie Pyle, a Chester County-based transportation and logistics provider has opened a new facility in Bangor, Maine. The move further enhances Pyle’s Northeast network and is expected to strengthen its position as the “leading supply chain solutions provider in the region,” the company said in a press release.

Monday’s opening of the location marks the company’s first expansion in 2024 — a year the family-owned and operated provider of asset and non-asset-based supply chain solutions will reach its 100th anniversary.

“We’re kicking 2024 off with a bang, as this new facility enables us to solidify our industry-leading presence across the Northeast,” John Luciani, COO of LTL Solutions at A. Duie Pyle, said in a statement. “This strategic addition to our network brings a higher level of LTL, dedicated and warehouse and distribution support to our customers in Central and Northern Maine.”

Luciani added the opening is the “first of a series coming down the pipeline this year,” that he said will enhance Pyle’s service center network and “expand our capabilities to service more customers.”

The facility will extend access to Pyle’s LTL — or less than truckload — warehouse and distribution and dedicated freight capabilities, enhancing its ability to service more customers in the local Maine area.

When it opened Jan. 15, the facility added 12 new jobs to the local economy, including eight drivers, two dockworkers and two managers. Another nine positions will be added at the facility by the end of the year, according to the company. Pyle operates another LTL service center in Portland, Maine.
