Boyertown School District launches 6 surveys seeking input

by medianews group

Scott Davidheiser, Boyertown Area School District’s newly appointed superintendent, has launched six stakeholder surveys to get feedback from the community.

The surveys, which seek input across four categories: communication/climate, facilities/resources, instructional practices/support*, and school district services/leadership, aim to gather data for the development of a strategic plan.

The district is soliciting feedback from administrators, teachers, support staff, students, and parents. The sixth survey specifically gathers input from taxpayers who do not have students attending the district’s schools. Taxpayers without students attending district schools are not surveyed in the area of Instructional Practices/Support.

“The development and creation of a strategic plan is paramount for any organization, most especially that of the school district. Memorializing for all stakeholders the goals and vision of the district brings clarity, purpose, and inspiration for all. Since PA tax laws proportion a large share of revenue to a school district from its community, involving taxpayers in the strategic planning process allows their voices to be included,” Davidheiser said in the release.

Participant input will be combined with additional data, including the academic performance data shared at the Jan. 14th board meeting, to form the key takeaways needed to inform the district’s strategic planning process throughout the next several months and beyond.

Summary results from the stakeholder surveys will be shared and representatives of the six stakeholder groups will participate in the formative stages of the strategic process.

District stakeholders interested in sharing their thoughts and ideas can visit boyertownasd.org/surveys. Community members without internet access who wish to complete the survey are encouraged to visit Boyertown’s Education Center, 911 Montgomery Avenue, Boyertown, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to complete the survey.
