Penn State offensive tackle Olu Fashanu and running back Nick Singleton have been named to the watch list for the Walter Camp Player of the Year award.

It’s the fourth-oldest award in college football and selected by a vote of Football Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors.

The 6-6, 319-pound Fashanu enters his second season as a starter for the Nittany Lions after an outstanding performance last year. He was named to the Walter Camp All-America second team and to Phil Steele’s All-America third team.

He was selected earlier to the watch list for the Outland Trophy, presented to the nation’s outstanding interior lineman.

The 6-0, 224-pound Singleton, a Gov. Mifflin product, rushed for 1,061 yards and 12 touchdowns last season and was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year. He was selected to several Freshman All-America teams.

He was picked earlier to the watch lists for the Maxwell Award (nation’s top player), Doak Walker Award (top running back) and Paul Hornung Award (most versatile player).
