District 1 6A boys basketball: Coatesville heads to the championship game after beating Methacton
The Coatesville Red Raiders will play for the District 1 Class 6A boys basketball championship after beating Methacton tonight, 61-54, in the semifinals.
The Red Raiders, the Ches-Mont League champs, will play the winner of Plymouth Whitemarsh on Sunday at 3 p.m. at St. Joseph’s University for the district title.
Plymouth Whitemarsh defeated Souderton 73-61 in the other semifinal game on Tuesday night.
Larry Brown, who scored the 1,000th point of his high school career, led the Red Raiders will 24 points, and sophomore Colton Hiller had 15.
John Leet lead Methacton with 17 points.
Souderton and Methacton will play for third place.
All four teams have qualified for the PIAA tournament.
Coatesville last won a district title in 2006.
