Football: Yesavage, Boyertown runs over Upper Merion in season finale
Boyertown scored the game’s first 22 points and kept its distance from Upper Merion in a 36-20 victory that gave the Bears a winning season finale.
Senior running back Cole Yesavage went out on a high note after his 30 carries for 279 yards and three touchdowns.
Also figuring into the Bears’ 443 rushing yards were Jason Oakes (12 carries, 93 yards) and Anthony Famularo (10 carries, 65 yards).
Upper Merion QB Jackson Solley was 13-for-23 for 219 yards.
Upper Merion avoided a first-half blanking when Hal Eaton caught a 3-yard TD pass from Solley.
Solley also connected with Erick Ramirez (3 catches, 118 yards) and Kylee Hill on long TD throws of 80- and 70 yards, respectively.
