Mercury roundup (Sept. 6): Boyertown girls soccer overcomes Perkiomen Valley
GIRLS SOCCER
Boyertown 3, Perkiomen Valley 2
Highlights: Alina Friz, Harper Glennon and Madison Baker all scored unassisted goals to send the Bears past the Vikings in PAC Liberty action. Perkiomen Valley had its share of unassisted goals with Brianna Young and Giavanna Marciano finding the back of the net for the Vikings.
Boyertown outshot the Vikings 11-7 and held a 9-2 advantage in corner opportunities. Ciera Cameron amassed 16 saves for the Bears while Olivia Hulayew made eight for Perkiomen Valley.
Spring-Ford 2, Owen J. Roberts 0
Highlights: Thanks to goals by Sarah Hang and Meg Kurian, Spring-Ford put down a marker with a shutout win over the reigning PAC champion Wildcats on Wednesday.
Olivia Nield registered nine saves for the shutout while Mackenzie Hanley and Lena Ackerman turned in assists for Spring-Ford.
Pottsgrove 13, Pottstown 2
Highlights: Brianna Thorum and Cece Hires both scored hat tricks for the Falcons in a high-scoring onslaught in PAC Frontier play. Emily Sorg tallied a pair of assists and both Hayden Pysher and Gianna Rytel found the back of the net as well.

Highlights: Mike Cesarki earned his 100th career win as Phoenixville’s head soccer coach.
Norristown 2, Methacton 1
Highlights: Jonathan Hernandez and Steve Ruiz found the back of the net to lead Eagles past the Warriors in PAC Liberty play. Cole Kleger cut the game to one goal by scoring on a penalty kick for Methacton. Alex Azcona made four saves between the pipes for Norristown and Wyatt Stemler had seven.
Perkiomen Valley 2, Boyertown 1
Highlights: The Vikings jumped out to a two-goal lead before Macade Knoblauch cut the Bears’ deficit in half on a penalty kick in the final minute of the first half. Both teams battled in a scoreless second half.

Highlights: Hannah Ulrich scored a hat trick in a PAC Liberty win for the Bears. Emily Ulrich scored a goal and tallied two assists. Elise Eves paced Boyertown’s offense with three saves and both Taylor Havrilla and Peyton Shellaway added a goal apiece as well.
Evie Wolters scored unassisted for the Wildcats. Boyertown outshot Owen J. Roberts 22-8 in shots and held an 11-6 advantage in corners. Addison Gailanese made three saves for the Bears and Jaz Campbell had six for the Wildcats.
Daniel Boone 3, Hamburg 0
Highlights: Liv Welker put away two goals and Haley Wagner added a goal to fuel the Blazers in a shutout of Hamburg. Marlee Fetrow tallied an assist while Daniel Boone held a 10-2 advantage in corner opportunities. Breanne Marchiano came up with four saves for Daniel Boone and Devon Frantz registered 13 in net for Hamburg.

Highlights: Setter Madison Monahan earned her 1,00th career assist while tallying 17 in a sweep for Pope John Paul II in PAC Frontier action. Hutton Cordrey led the Golden Panthers with nine kills, six digs and seven service points. Maeve Gallagher tacked on seven kills, Natalie Ricevuto added six and Norah Busch provided four.
Bria Daly made five assists and Reece Benner had three. Gabriella Cooper came up with 10 digs, Cindy Jin made five and Merideth Oister had four. Sophia Benincasa earned 10 service points, Gabriella Manza accounted for eight and Gabriella Cooper had six.
Avery Gleason led the Falcons with five kills and helped Pottsgrove’s defensive efforts alongside Maeva McNamara and Braylin Lewis.

Highlights: Anne Gerstenberg led Upper Perkiomen with five kills, two digs and an ace while Ava Steinman posted five kills and three digs.

Highlights: Kayla Ginther led the charge with 10 kills and six aces in a five-set win for the Warriors. Jacque Rizzuto posted nine kills and two aces while Ellie Baldwin put up five kills and three blocks. Methacton now sits at 2-0 both in the PAC and overall.
