North Penn Mosque to host Community Day
LANSDALE — The annual Community Day at the North Penn Mosque will be held on Saturday, September 21, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Mosque is located at 600 Maple Avenue, Lansdale.
The goal is to have the community come and enjoy a fun day of barbeque, games for the children and an opportunity to tour the Mosque and learn about various functions and charities that the Mosque participates in.
Expected to attend the event will be representatives of Gov. Josh Shapiro’s office; Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Val Arkoosh; the Montgomery County Commissioners; state Sen. Tracy Pennycuick, and state Rep. Steve Malagari, along with other dignitaries.
This year the festivities will also include the “Crime Lab” truck from the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office and a fire truck, courtesy of the Fairmount Fire Company.
According to Shams Huda, one of the organizers, “the goal of the Community Day is to gather a true cross section of the people of Lansdale and the surrounding communities to get together, eat, mingle, make friends and get to know each other in a very open and welcoming atmosphere.”
