Open Hearth Inc. marks grand opening of new Phoenixville headquarters

PHOENIXVILLE — Open Hearth Inc., a Phoenixville-based nonprofit recently marked the opening of its new headquarters with a grand opening and ribbon cutting.

The new location, 701 S. Main Street in Phoenixville, serves as home to Open Hearth’s programs and community building initiatives.

“We are excited to welcome the community into our new home and showcase all the impactful work that Open Hearth does in the area,”  Kelly Raggazino, chief executive officer of Open Hearth, said in a statement. “This new building will not only provide a more accessible and inspirational space for our clients and partners, but it will also allow us to continue growing and serving those in need.”

Open Hearth provides programs to support and empower people to end the cycle of homelessness, acquire affordable housing, a means of transportation, workforce opportunities, and achieve financial stability, according to information on Open Hearth’s website. The organization serves residents of Chester County and portions of western Montgomery County. Among those served by Open Hearth are: At-risk populations, low-income households, those with disabilities, single parents, the elderly, and individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

The building was donated by local residents Janice and Paul Hartmann. A capital campaign — “Home Is Where the Hearth Is” — raised more than $1 million. The building then underwent critical repairs and renovations to bring it up to date and meet code requirements, according to a press release. Lead supporters of the campaign included The Phoenixville Community Health Foundation, Chester County Department of Community Development, The McLean Contributionship, Univest, and First Cornerstone Foundation.

The ribbon cutting ceremony and open house event was held on Oct. 5, and included tours of the new building, comments from officials and entertainment.
