2024 All-Area Boys Cross Country

First Team

BROCK YODER, Malvern Prep – Sophomore finished second at the PAISAA Cross Country championships with a clocking of 16 minutes, 13.4 seconds, and placed second at the Inter-Ac Championships with a time of 16:11.

JAMES McGLYNN, Unionville – Senior finished 34th in the PIAA 3A state championships (16:36), placed 23rd at the District 1 3A meet (15:51.8) and was sixth at the Ches-Mont Championships.

NISCHAL VASANTH, Jr., Downingtown East – Junior finished 40th at the PIAA 3A state meet, clocking 16:42, placed 13th at District 1 3A meet (15:27.3) and was fourth at Ches-Mont Cross Country Championships.

RYAN PEPPERMAN, Great Valley – Senior placed second at the Ches-Mont Cross Country Championships, then placed 12th at the District 1 3A meet with a clocking of 15:24.2. Finished eighth in the Boys’ Challenge race at the Carlisle Invitational.

JONATHAN STANCIK, Sr., Unionville – Senior finished 20th at the District 1 3A Cross Country Championships, and was seventh at the Ches-Mont Championships. Received first team All-Ches-Mont League honors.

GABE SIMKISS, Regina Luminis Academy – Sophomore finished third at the PIAA Class A state championships with a time of 16:28, and was the PIAA District 1 A champion.

Coach Of The Year

West Chester Henderson head coach Kevin Kelly, the Daily Local News 2024 Boys Cross Country Coach of the Year, led his team to a seventh-place finish in team standings at the PIAA 3A Boys Cross Country Championships. At Districts, the Warriors finished fifth.

“Our team really bought into the training plan, they worked hard and showed a lot of improvement over the course of the year,” said Kelly. “We kept improving versus our competition over the course of the postseason. Our assistant coaches, Bryan Johnson and Jon Mazzio, did a great job of working with the team. The best part is that we return five of our top six runners — if we have a good track season, we could really do well next fall.”
