Boys Basketball

Souderton 57, Central Bucks East 52 >> Souderton’s Nate Rusike scored a game-high 22 points as the Indians held off Central Bucks East in the fourth quarter to stay undefeated in the SOL Colonial.

Thaddeus Harter had 11 points while Chanse Salone chipped in 10 points for Souderton, who led 26-20 at halftime then pushed its advantage to 36-26 at the end of the third. The Indians (5-2, 3-0 division) have won three straight.

Shane O’Hara-Jamison hit five 3-pointers in scoring 17 points for CB East (5-2, 1-2). AJ Molner added 14 points.

Abington 59, Wissahickon 47 >> Jake Manigault and Paul Glants both scored a team-high 16 points as Abington earned an SOL Liberty win Friday afternoon.

Faizon Garland finished with 10 points for the Galloping Ghosts (5-1, 2-1 division), who outscored Wissahickon 13-5 in the fourth after leading 46-42 at the start of the quarter.

Nico Vacchiano had a game-best 22 points for the Trojans (2-4, 0-3), who have lost four straight. Stelzer contributed 10 points.

William Tennent 69, Springfield (Montco) 36 >> William Tennent earned its first win as it snapped Springfield’s six-game win streak.

For Springfield (7-2, 2-1 Freedom), Chadrack Kiamba had 10 points and five rebounds. Tennent improved to 1-5 (1-2 SOL Freedom).

Phil-Mont Christian 59, Jenkintown 42 >> Phil-Mont Christian halted a two-game skid in the BAL Constitution Division matchup.

Jon Williams scored 13 points for Jenkintown (1-7, 1-4), who have lost their last five. Phil-Mont moved to 7-2 (4-2).

Girls Basketball

Central Bucks East 54, Souderton 26 >> Central Bucks East led 24-13 at halftime then pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring Souderton 18-4 as it went on to claim a third straight victory.

Haley Moran scored 11 of her game-high 15 points in the second half for the Patriots (5-1, 3-0 SOL Colonial). Syd Ralph added 10 points

Julia Purvy paced Souderton (6-3, 1-2 SOL Colonial) with 10 points.

Archbishop Wood 72, Brookswood Secondary (B.C.) 42 >> Makayla Finnegan finished with 15 points, three assists, two rebounds and a steal as Archbishop Wood picked up its first win at the Nike Tournament of Champions in Phoenix, Arizona by rolling past British Columbia’s Brookswood Secondary.

Colleen Besachio had 14 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals for the Vikings (3-4), Ryan Carter collected 10 points, six rebounds, four assists and a steal while Emily Knouse had eight points, eight rebounds and three assists.

St. Joseph by-the-Sea (N.Y.) 45, Archbishop Carroll 38 >> Archbishop Carroll struggled to get shots to drop and lost in Friday’s Shore Games matchup at St. John Vianney High School in Holmdel, New Jersey.

Abby McFillin finished with 10 points and three rebounds for the Patriots (3-3, 1-0 PCL) while Alexis Eberz had eight points and nine rebounds.
