Perkiomen Valley 56, Spring-Ford 48 OT

After Grace Galbavy’s late 3-pointer forced overtime, Perkiomen Valley was clutch in the extra period with a key basket from Bella Bacani and 7-for-7 shooting at the free-throw line to cap a perfect run through the Pioneer Athletic Conference regular season at Spring-Ford.

Perk Valley (10-0 PAC Liberty, 13-0 conference), the No. 1 ranked team in District 1 Class 6A, upped its record to 21-1 and secured the No. 1 seed for the PAC tournament, which begins next Thursday, Feb. 8.

A tight battle throughout, the Rams were ahead 20-19 at halftime and the game was tied 31-31 after three quarters.

Spring-Ford built a two-possession lead in the late stages but Perk Valley came back, Galbavy’s 3-pointer with 16.1 seconds left followed by her block of Anna Azzara’s buzzer attempt forcing overtime.

In overtime, a Grace Miley and-one for PV was answered by an Azzara triple. But it was the scoring the VIkings would allow as Bacani’s floater with 1:55 left gave them the lead for good.

Game-high scoring honors went to Perkiomen Valley’s Grace Galbavy who had 21 points while Quinn Boettinger scored 13. The Rams had a trio of players in double figures — Kareena Preuss had 12 points, Aaliyah Solliday scored 11 points, and Katie Tiffan added 10 points.

Spring-Ford (8-2, 11-2, 18-4) will be the No. 3 seed for the PAC tournament and will host a quarterfinal on Thursday, Feb. 8.
