Roundup (Feb. 2): Phoenixville girls’ basketball caps unbeaten run through PAC Frontier Division

Phoenixville 66, Pottsgrove 37
Kayden Baratta led Phoenixville’s high-volume night from beyond the arc as Baratta hit five 3-pointers on the way to 27 points as the Phantoms closed out an unbeaten run in the PAC Frontier Division.

Phoenixville (10-0, 11-1, 15-6), which made 10 3s, got 12 points from Ava Gnias. It locked up to No. 2 see and a first-round bye for the PAC tournament, which begins next Tuesday.

Jessica Carroll had a game-high 18 for Pottsgrove (3-7, 3-10, 5-17).

Methacton closed its season on a high note with a dominant first half that carried it to a 79-43 win over Boyertown. Abby Arnold scored 27 points for the Warriors closing the year with a top 5 scoring average in the PAC at 17.5 ppg.
Avery Kenney and Lila Cingiser added 11 points apiece for Methacton (5-5 Liberty, 6-7 PAC, 6-16 overall).
Madelyn Weaver was high scorer for Boyertown with 24 points. The Bears went without a division victory and finished 4-18 overall.

In their respective season finales, Upper Perk handled Pottstown in a PAC Frontier matchup. Natalie Kearney scored 15 for UP and Erin States added 12.
Upper Perk improved to 6-16 (3-7 Frontier, 3-10 PAC).
Pottstown, which endured a winless campaign (0-16), got six points apiece from Jayanna Hill and Vivian Diaz.

GA senior Izzy Casey eclipsed the 1,000-point milestone for her career and a fast start from the Patriots allowed them to earn a road victory at Hill School.
Casey finished with 18 points.
Hill was led by 13-point games from Sammie Faella and Lily Soller.

Pottstown controlled the contest from wire-to-wire and secured its place in the PAC tournament Thursday with a 67-33 win over Upper Perk.
The Trojans got 24 points from Abdul Jackson and 15 from Sadeeq Jackson. Pottstown (8-2, 10-3, 14-6) closes the regular season on Friday against Norristown.
Upper Perk (0-10, 0-13, 2-20) received 12 points from Owen Williams.

Methacton 80, Boyertown 44

Methacton was able to put together a strong second half to secure the 80-44 victory over Boyertown. Anthony Daddazio and Christian Matos each scored 15 points while Manny Rodriguez added 14. Daddazio, Matos and Rodriguez combined for nine of the Warriors’ 13 3-pointers.

Methacton (15-6 overall, 10-3 PAC, 8-2 Liberty) is bound for the PAC playoffs where it will be one of the four wild-card entrants. The Warriors will meet an opponent to be determined on Tuesday, Feb. 6.

Braedyn Johnson led Boyertown with 15 points. The Bears finished the year 7-14.

Pope John Paul II took care of business at the free-throw line going 24-for-26 in a PAC Frontier victory over Upper Merion.
Dom Demito headed the effort with 15 points (12-for-12 at the line). Caleb Zavertnik also scored 15 for PJP (6-4, 6-7, 10-10).
Elijah Davis scored 18 to lead Upper Merion (4-6, 5-7, 8-11).
