Pottstown 71, Muhlenberg 68

Senior brothers Abdul Jackson and Sadeeq Jackson were the architects of a rousing comeback from Pottstown as the Trojans rallied to victory over Muhlenberg as hosts of their inaugural Martin Luther King Jr. Showcase event.

Abdul Jackson scored nine of his game-high 26 points in the final quarter while Sadeeq Jackson (15 points) saved his best for last with 10 points in the fourth.

Jurrell Young added 14 for the Trojans, who improved to 10-4.

Shermar Killen’s 25 for tops for the Muhls, who had four score in double figures.

A slow start spoiled Norristown’s chances against Dobbins on Jan. 13 in the Martin Luther King Jr. Showcase event at Pottstown.

Dobbins led 24-8 after one quarter. Myon Kirlew scored 33 to lead the Eagles.

Hill School (9-5, 2-0 MAPL) knocked off defending champion Blair Academy (14-2, 2-1) in a pivotal Mid-Atlantic Prep League showdown behind a game-high 17 points from point guard Jacob Meachem. Quadri Bashiru added 12 points in the win. It’s the third straight home win over Blair in the MAPL rivalry between the league’s perennial top teams. Hill returns to action on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at home against Friends Central School.

Manny Rodriguez hit the game-winning 3-pointer as time expired to give the Warriors a 66-65 win over host Plymouth Whitemarsh on Jan. 13.  Christian Matos led Methacton (5-2 PAC, 10-4 overall) with 24 points while Sal Iemmello contributed 12.

Close through three quarters, Spring-Ford took control in the fourth for a PAC crossover victory over PJP on Saturday. Jacob Nguyen and Tommy Kelly scored seven points apiece in the final frame as SF outscored PJP 21-8. Nguyen had a game-high 19 points, EJ Campbell had 17 and Kelly netted 16.

Caleb Zavertnik put up 14 for PJP.

Big Red Duals

Boyertown won the championship of the Big Red Duals at Souderton in an all-Pioneer Athletic Conference final over Spring-Ford on Jan. 13.

The Bears prevailed over the Rams 37-18 in the final, jumping out to a 29-0 lead in a run that featured pins from Gavin Sheridan (133) and Ryder Gehris (172). Sheridan was 4-0 on the day with four pins. Owen Dykie, Brody Coleman and Beck Babb also had 4-0 days for Boyertown.

For Spring-Ford, Mason Richards and Connor Hudak were 4-0 on the day.
