Roundup (Jan. 17): Dotterer delivers Spring-Ford wrestling a 30-24 win over Perkiomen Valley in final bout

Drew Dotterer gave Spring-Ford a special Senior Night Wednesday.

Tied 24-24 with rival Perkiomen Valley, the senior 152-pounder took the mat for the night’s finale and earned a first-period pin of Jonathan Bullen to send Spring-Ford to a 30-24 victory over Perk Valley in a Pioneer Athletic Conference match on Jan. 17.

The Rams trailed the Vikings 24-21 with two bouts remaining after Luke Knox’s pin at 139. But Jamie Silva gave SF the winning push, taking a 12-5 decision over Patrick Lamirande at 145, setting up Dotterer’s heroics.

Spring-Ford also got wins from seniors Daniel Borzillo at 215 and a tech fall from Brennan McGrann at 133.

In a battle of state qualifiers, PV’s Carter Euker edged SF’s Mason Richards, 5-4, at 189 pounds.

Boyertown celebrated Senior NIght by surging to a 42-0 lead en route to a PAC Liberty Division dual win over Methacton.
Senior Navy recruit Gavin Sheridan ran his career win total to 120 with a pin at 133 pounds. That followed a strong showing from senior Andrew Myslinski, who decisioned past regional qualifier Ryan Hayes, 4-1, at 127 pounds. Myslinski is 17-3 this season. Fellow senior Mike Kelleher won the night’s closest bout, 2-0 over Collin O’Neill at 189 pounds.
Other pinfall winners for the Bears included Cole Fogle, Brody Coleman, Owen Dykie and JD Heiser.
Methacton junior Matty Shumaker upped his record to 19-2.

Despite having the game’s two highest scorers, Norristown couldn’t match the depth of PAC first-place Spring-Ford in a rescheduled division contest on Jan. 17.
Myon Kirlew (25) and Jayden Byrd (20) combined for 45 points for the Eagles, but Spring-Ford got strong scoring outputs from Tommy Kelly, EJ Campbell and Jacob Nguyen. Kelly and Campbell scored 19 apiece and Nguyen followed with 18. Oben Mokonchu added eight.

PJP built a lead and took care of business at the free-throw line down the stretch to hold off Pottsgrove in PAC Frontier action on Jan. 17. Braden Reed scored 11 and Dom Demito 10 for the Golden Panthers. Denny Owens scored six of his seven points in the fourth quarter.
Kamal Curry’s 10 points were tops for the Falcons.
