The Mercury’s Sound Off for Saturday, Oct. 7
I’m confused, I vote for the best person to represent my views Democrat or Republican but when laws are voted on it’s one party for, the other one against. I thought my representative voted for the people’s views who voted for them, not by the political party.

State Rep. Joe Ciresi touts himself as the education representative but his record clearly shows otherwise. Joe always votes against school choice and charter schools which both would help the underserved communities of the district, especially Pottstown. He takes thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from the teachers’ union and does their bidding because the union hates competition in education. Ciresi also supported the lockdowns that kept our children out of school. We won’t forget Joe!
While Joe Biden hypocritically walks the UAW picket line to show support for the very people he is putting out of a job, Elon Musk did something constructive like visit the southern border and shared it with millions of people on Twitter. Since the lamestream media keeps America in the dark about what’s really transpiring down there, thank God we have a patriot like Elon Musk who loves America more than the Democratic Party.

Does anyone as old as I and who lived in Philadelphia remember the Horn and Hardart little delivery trucks? They were electric!

Biden is making new enemies daily. It started with people who drive gas-powered cars, he stopped oil drilling offshore and on public land, shut down the oil pipeline, and won’t sign new leases or renew old leases. The price of crude is skyrocketing. Then he went after people who own gas stoves. Now, right before winter, he’s targeting people who heat their homes with natural gas. He must forget these people vote.

Some people seem to be confused about which charges against politicians are valid and which are not. I’m happy to clarify. All the indictments against President Trump are bogus and all the charges against President Biden are true. The reason is that Trump is good and Biden is evil. I don’t know why people make it so complicated.

We once thought that only the government could do something as difficult and expensive as space travel, but it’s now proven that SpaceX and other private companies can perform space travel much more efficiently. Instead of dropping expensive booster rockets into the ocean like NASA, SpaceX lands and reuses the boosters. We should apply this valuable lesson to many other areas of our bloated government.

To be clear, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is bought and paid for. A simple look at the findings of Pro Publica documents how many trips and gifts he has received and not claimed. Radical Republicans don’t care though, they like that he overturned Roe v. Wade so they accept his corruption.

I’m so old I can recall when politics in the United States attracted the brightest and most talented public servants in the country. Looking at the Democrat party over the past 20 years, and the current administration more specifically, I find myself wondering – what the heck happened?

Charlie on Sept. 27. “Biden made correct call as usual”! LOL … Biden’s not in charge! Unelected officials making decisions, as Biden reads Cue cards! Doesn’t know where he’s at! Shakes hands, no one’s there! Confused, led off the White House Lawn by the Easter Bunny! Jill Biden takes his arm, “Come on honey” to leave the podium! You missed the MSM coverage! Oh silly me, it’s ignored by MSM!
Just the facts!
Since Kari Lake still contends she’s governor of Arizona, why is she running for Senate? If she loses that election, will she claim voter fraud again and say she’s in the Senate? Can she possibly do both jobs effectively? Next, she’ll run for president. Wow. Governor, Senator and President all at once. How ambitious.

It was easier for Harrisburg to raise taxes than to protect our seniors. Remember this when you vote. If you don’t vote, move to another country.

“The crows seem to be calling my name,” thought Mr. Caw.

The House impeachment committee brought its first witnesses against Biden and they all said there was no evidence to bring impeachment. Wait. What? Who recruited these witnesses? They are not earning their fees. There must be people out there with more helpful things to say. Have they tried advertising on Craig’s List?

Definition: Fraud-wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain. It became a lifestyle for Fred Trump and his son Donald and his sons Donald and Eric. Perhaps the current trial is the end of that criminal way of life. Too many victims.

Jim Fitch I truly enjoy reading your Sound Offs, but today the one about the monument to those killed by illegals who have invaded our country was my favorite! Keep them coming!

They say Trump is running on a platform of lawlessness, promising to wield the power of the state against his enemies. That’s why I support him because his enemies are my enemies — the socialists, the woke corporations, the entitled minorities, the Democrats — and I will enjoy seeing them fall. He’s not a threat to my freedom, just to the freedom of those I hate.

Climate change deniers deliberately ignore the point. “… CO2 levels have varied in the extreme before and after man’s arrival on this planet.” True. But … the current variation is an imminent existential threat to humanity. It’s changing too rapidly for most of the world’s species (including Man) to adapt. There is no shelter. The only hope is a change in human behavior. But, hey, no biggie … Monday Night Football is still here.
The old saying that “Practice Makes Perfect” couldn’t be more wrong in the case of Joe Biden. He’s been practicing this politics thing for over 5 decades and has acquired absolutely zero credible political credentials. But if you’re talking about practicing the art of corruption, then the saying is quite apropos.

Recently, I spent time outdoors with my Bride, Rufus, and Peaches, enjoying the scenery and the wildlife. It made me realize that all “classrooms” don’t have four walls!
