Driving on High Street in downtown Pottstown is often like being in the middle of a carnival shooting gallery. Are citations ever issued for jaywalkers, red light runners, or stop sign slide-thrus anywhere in Pottstown? This applies to bicyclists as well as car or truck drivers and pedestrians.

What is the practicality of rail service from Reading to Philly? It was discontinued long ago due to lack of interest and right now, the buses they have running that route are half full at best.

More than 350 individuals were sleeping in the county’s emergency shelters, transitional housing sites, or outdoors in Montgomery County according to the 2022 Point-In-Time (PIT) Count. It’s a shame that Pottstown Borough decided to spend taxpayers’ money to appeal a Judge’s ruling when the money could be used to create jobs, support Beacon of Hope, or help to get the title situation resolved for the site that was approved for a homeless shelter.

They got canceled and were confronted by the reality that the party of their choosing had financed, through Iran, the murder of 1,200 Israelis. Not to worry though. Interesting article by Jay Bryson of Wells Fargo about the economy and inflation. Inflation under Biden was 9% in 2022, 8% in summer 2023, and 4% at present without figuring food and energy, which are most important but they don’t figure it. With the necessities of life, possibly still in the 8% range. Interest rates high, home sales down, apartment rent up, and insurance, automobiles all higher. Great job under Democrat policies.

There goes Jay Miller again, writing lies about Trump. Trump never claimed to have immunity before or after being president. Never. All presidents have immunity during their terms, and if the SCOTUS rules differently, then Joe Biden will be bankrupted by lawsuits from Texas ranchers who have been affected by his actions at the border. We all should hope SCOTUS rules that presidents have immunity during their terms or our nation is done.

I am shocked by Pope Francis allowing the blessing of gay couples. This goes against the basic teachings of the Apostle Paul, Jesus, and the Catholic Church. This is pure unadulterated pandering, and it will not build the church up but rather will tear it down.

Decrying that the failure of Bidenomics was its messaging Mr. Wood’s latest column cemented his place as one of the dimmer lights in the history of Mercury columnists. That column was defining. It’s hard to imagine anyone will ever take anything he writes as seriously. I certainly won’t. Not that I ever have and frankly I don’t know of anyone who has. Perhaps he should add to his byline “also a pedestrian thinker and writer.”

I see the Joe Gale fan club is alive and well. Eight years as a minority commissioner and he did absolutely nothing. Val and Ken did all the work and Joe just took up space when he wasn’t being racist. He liked getting his name in the paper for sure. Nice try Mark!

Our leaders have no idea what to do about the homeless, they have no answers. So we open our borders and invite millions more to move in, and have taxpayers pay expenses, or allow the migrants to live on the street. With no explanation or reasoning to the folks who are shouldering the expenses. And if you don’t like it, you’re the problem. It is totally bizarre! Can Joe or KJP explain what they’re doing?

In this day and age, why are people homeless? Many reasons but some of them make poor financial decisions. The Mercury’s story on Ms. Rumford is an example. She has 3 dogs that she feeds for openers. One dog is expensive enough with vet bills, licensing, and food, but she has three! She cares more for the dogs than having shelter. Poor decisions.

Texas Gov. Abbott just signed a bill that makes it a crime to enter the state of Texas illegally. Let’s see how long it takes Biden and his corrupted democrat Department of Justice to go down there to put a stop to it. I’m sure if Dementia Joe moves his classic Corvette out of his beach house garage, he can host a family of 20-25 illegals in that space.

Our regular, resident right-wingers adamantly try to convince all, anyone disagreeing with them is a low IQ, leftist, America-hating socialist. Including such “RINOs” as Cheney, Romney, Kinzinger, or Christie? Would they be labeled leftist, low IQ, or socialist? Do they hate America, too?
