The Mercury’s Sound Off for Sunday, March 10

by for medianews group

Like many Sound Off readers, I just got my county property tax bill on Saturday. The increase was $132. That took more than one month’s increase in my Social Security for 2024. When my school tax bill comes that will wipe out another couple of months.  Insurance cost increases have taken 3 more months. Not to mention all the other Bidenomics increases.  Bidenomics is wiping out retired folks’ incomes.

Waah … Waah … Waah The present group of Boyertown’s marching band is a bunch of crybabies. They can’t march on grass like previous Boyertown bands did. No, they need turf, because everyone else has turf. They need water bottles carried after them in parades. They can’t stand for a minute at parade rest without talking, shuffling around, and acting like the softies that they are. They are the opposite of what Saylor’s bands were.

Are Democrat state representatives threats to the well-being of schoolchildren? During the pandemic, teacher unions prevailed upon their allies to extend lockdowns as non-public schools remained largely open. Meal funding? Tied by Democrat Administrations to compliance with non-binary agendas. Failure to accommodate race-based guidelines on discipline? Subject to lost school district funding. Students and taxpayers benefit from competition for the education dollar, an uncomfortable reality for the political left.

Democrat election lawyer Marc E. Elias boasted Sunday that President Donald Trump cannot receive a fair trial in the District of Columbia (Washington DC). Isn’t that enlightening? But of course, many Americans already knew that, but I hope Marc Elias keeps boasting.

Jay Miller, I think you are wrong when saying Trump has no endorsement by Republicans and former presidents. He is not supported by them because he is not a politician. He ran the government like a business, not a Boys Club in lockstep with Party rules. House Speaker Johnson is having the same problem of support as a professing Christian not like Pelosi as a Catholic.

Jay Miller can’t get it through his obtuse head that property owners do not determine the value of their own properties. It‘s impossible to “inflate” your own property value in the loan approval process. Lending institutions are solely responsible for property valuation when lending money against said property. Comrade Miller should see what happens if he tries to borrow against his domicile (his parent’s basement?) and tells the bank it’s worth a million dollars.

During Trump’s four years as president, 30-year fixed-rate mortgages averaged 3.89%. Thus far in the Biden Administration, the same mortgages have averaged 6.6%. For the typical homebuyer, this difference translates into an additional monthly mortgage payment of $1,000.

Time for Jay Miller’s caretakers to up his TDS meds again. Now Comrade Miller has delusional thoughts that Donald Trump (America’s Most Accomplished President) took illegal payments from foreign governments when he was in office and busy 24/7 Making America Great Again by fixing the destruction Obama and Biden left in their wake. I hear that “Dems be tripp’n” but the Jaybird must be on a never-ending LSD odyssey.

I am sick to my stomach after reading the story about the young lady who was a nursing student at the University of Georgia. Her life was snuffed out by an illegal immigrant who came here in 2022. Her blood is on the hands of Joe Biden and every Democrat who held up the construction of Trump’s wall. Biden voters you own this, don’t make the same mistake again.

Why are J6 protesters still in prison without due process? A lot of them are veterans who are treated worse than real political prisoners from foreign countries! The no medical care, terrible food, loud noise all day, and not being able to talk to or see family!! What are we doing? When you see police attached by illegals, then they get out and flip you the bird!! Something is terribly wrong!

If asked whom I thought was the greater pontificator I’d be hard-pressed to choose between Christine Flowers or Will Wood. If asked who was smarter Christine wins hands down. Will Wood is Jay Miller without the 75-word limit.

Every single day the resident crazies constantly post about the border and illegal immigration. Yes, it is a problem but then why did the GOP vote down the recent bill that even the border agents union endorsed? It was done to help the former Liar-in-Chief look good to his cult and not give President Biden the credit. The con man is not for the people he’s a lying cheat who’s for himself. This is MAGA!

The likeliness of having Washington Post political activist, E.J. Dionne’s article, “Bible Espouses Social Justice” on the same page as Cal Thomas’s article, “Trump Promises to Protect Christians from Persecution” was nothing short of divine intervention. Trump’s inadvertent response to Dionne’s heading was priceless…..the “radical left wants to tear down crosses where they can, and cover them with social justice flags”. Perfect Mr. Trump; just perfect.

Patriot54 wins the “Democrat Campaign Parrot of the Week” award for his laughable lie that Republicans are responsible for Biden’s Border Boondoggle. Ignorant to the fact that prior to Biden rescinding Trump’s border policies in January 2021, our southern border was the most secure in U.S. history. Dementia Joe can end his border crisis with the stroke of his pen as easily as he created the crisis with the stroke of his pen.

The Thursday edition of the Mercury is full of great stories for the Democrats starting with 2 on the front page. First in line, Rents spiraling out of control due to the Bidenomics miracle. Second, is the story featuring the insane Democrat Shapiro PA budget where the gap between revenue and spending is a billion dollars. Have no fear though, Democrats will close that gap with more taxes on us.

Hey E-8 and Jay Miller, I hate to burst the Mainstream Media-fueled Trump Derangement bubble you live in, but January 6th was about as far from being an “insurrection” as Joe Biden is from being mentally fit. Not a single person, neither Trump nor any protestors, have been charged, let alone convicted of, insurrection. Some trespassing, yes. Some disorderly conduct, yes. Protesting the results of a highly compromised presidential election, most definitely yes.

Robert Minninger- Thank you for posting MSN article on GA election machines and vulnerabilities. Found it most interesting. I’m glad PA has hand-marked paper ballots and wish every state did. Further reading shows Prof Haldeman doesn’t think there was voting fraud in GA. He said if voters checked their printed paper ballots and they matched the machines it wasn’t a problem. GA recounted 3 times matching printed ballots.

My oh my it is now so obvious why Trump is being prosecuted for “taking” allegedly classified documents and Biden is not. Biden took classified documents over a period of about 40 years and kept them longer. He kept them in multiple locations, Chinatown, Penn University, His Garage, His library, and University of Delaware making it harder for spies to steal them. Trump should have spread them around. So obvious now.

Here’s an idea! From now until the general election, all newspapers, radio, internet and TV newscasts only report the news! Nothing but verifiable news! But print all of the news! Keep your opinions out of it and to yourself!

Once I attended an art show and while looking at a picture, I said to a nearby person, “Why would they allow something so hideous to be on display? That person replied, “Sir that’s not a picture. It’s a mirror!”
