The Mercury’s Sound Off for Thursday, Aug. 24

The Mercury’s sister publication, the Reading Eagle, broke the story of the closing of the Kutztown Ambulance company. Meanwhile, in Boyertown, the Colebrookdale Railroad is getting $20 million courtesy of taxpayers. Obviously, the tourist attraction in Boyertown needs that money more than sick folks or accident victims, or crime victims. Before anyone says the ambulance company is a private company, so is the Colebrookdale Toy Railroad.

With the 2024 presidential election quickly approaching, as expected and right on queue, the Democrats, along with their mainstream media propaganda apparatus and corrupt politicized “science” cohorts, are getting ready to reintroduce COVID restrictions. This, combined with the attempts to arrest the leading Republican challenger, shows how devious the Left can be. Get ready. The Democrat’s 2024 election interference will make 2020’s look like child’s play. Beware, sheeple can’t help being sheeple. Dems be tripp’n!

Donald Trump announced his innocence on all charges against him. Solution: request all trials immediately and present your evidence and you will be acquitted of all charges. Trump is assumed innocent (as all criminal defendants are). Trust the million-dollar lawyers paid for by those who are victims of the grift.

I read that State Rep from Georgia, Mesha Mainor, an African American, has dropped out of the Democrat party and is joining the Republican Party. As Ronald Regan stated years ago when he switched parties, “I didn’t leave the Democratic Party, they left me.” Seems like both of these people opened their eyes to a better day. Race doesn’t seem to matter when you see the truth, not the party.

It annoys me when people say say “Age is just a number.” Age is very clearly a word.

Looking at the published Devon Archer transcript, The most radical Republicans have is that Joe Biden called his son Hunter regularly following the death of his brother, Beau Biden and that Hunter sometimes would put him on speaker phone to demonstrate that he knew people in high places (like his dad, gasp.) With no fanfare, the FDA announced that Ivermectin can be prescribed to treat Covid. Some may recall that this miracle drug, which had been given to hundreds of millions for parasitic infections at a cost of pennies per treatment, was labeled “horse paste” by those now known to have had incentives to deceive. The often compelled mRNA injections prevented neither contraction nor transmission of the virus. Adverse effects e.g. myocarditis? Extraordinarily high.

The comment about Democrats having no platform is true. Their platform is to get Trump no matter what or how since he was elected. Their platform is to teach Biden how to get off the platform. What about inflation, border control, illegals flooding the country, drugs in the family, and finally claiming Hunter’s daughter?

The Moderate finally admits he made a colossal mistake voting for the Democrat’s senile puppet Joe Biden. It must feel incredibly cathartic to admit publicly that you were wrong. Wonder who The Moderate (or whatever his name will be next) will support in 2024? Odds-on favorite it’ll be another progressive Democrat just like himself because everyone knows low-intelligence voters don’t fall far from the progressive liberal Democrat tree.

Who would ever have thought that climate change would interfere with the production of gasoline? Refineries are unable to run at full capacity because of intense heat. The petroleum industry is getting beaten up by something that it caused.

Biden’s Attorney General is making a mockery of the concept of equal justice. Merrick Garland appointed a rabid partisan as Special Counsel to investigate Trump, but he just appointed U.S. Attorney David Weiss as Special Counsel to investigate Hunter Biden. Weiss is the “prosecutor” who allowed the statute of limitations to run out on Hunter Biden’s most egregious tax evasion charges. He’s the same guy who crafted the sweetheart deal to forgive Biden’s felony gun charges.
