The Mercury’s Sound Off for Thursday, Sept. 14

Just a reminder, a free race track opened on the lower part of Longford Road. Fast speeds, passing on double yellow lines, racing past small children. Witness the excitement! The police obviously aren’t! A stop sign at Green Street and Longford Road would help to save lives!

I was very proud of my state legislator, Rep. Mark Gillen for his spot-on commentary in Saturday’s Mercury about our “bad immigration policy.” My only correction would be that we have no immigration policy because Democrats have made it quite clear that all are welcome here with no questions asked. America will pay dearly for such a nearsighted policy as no civilization in history has been able to survive with compromised borders.

I would like to compliment The Mercury for the full page of info regarding September 11th. For those of us who were around at that time, it is a reminder to “never forget” and for those who were not or too young, it is a message to learn and “Never Forget.”

An illegal alien imprisoned for first-degree murder escaped from a Chester County prison 2 weeks ago. Hopefully, he’ll be apprehended before he hurts anyone. Once caught, I think he should be transported to the residence of Kamala Harris since she is a big proponent of sanctuary for illegal migrants. Dems be tripp’n!

New Jersey became the latest sanctuary city or state to attempt to refuse new migrants. They claim they are being overwhelmed. The mayor of NYC claims that the cost of housing migrants will destroy his city. Los Angeles is looking to sue Texas for providing buses to a few hundred migrants going to that sanctuary city. These virtue-signaling posers are only experiencing a small fraction of the immigration disaster. Simple solution: restore the Republican border policies!

Mr. Minninger tells us that Dr. John F. Clauser, a Nobel prize-winning theoretical physicist, thinks climate change is bogus. It’s true. He does. The problem is, that Dr. Clauser knows as much about climate science as any random climate scientist knows about quantum mechanics. Bob Dylan’s a Nobel laureate, why not ask him?

A Princeton study informed that there were about as many violent BLM protests (570) as there were peaceful Trump rallies. Two of the latter ended badly when political adversaries were charged with security. In the first, those exiting a White House nomination event were funneled by police to a waiting mob and assaulted. The second? January 6. Requests for enhanced security, days in advance, were denied by the mayor, military and congressional leadership (McConnell & Pelosi).

Up  31-14 with 5 seconds left, the score, as it was, would have been convincing.  The sportsman-like thing to do would have been to take a knee and let the clock run out. But this is what our “in your face” world looks like today. Coaches have long memories. Hope the moment doesn’t come back to bite Penn State.

In 2009, shortly after Democrat socialist Barack Obama was elected POTUS, the federal government took over America’s student loan programs. Prior to 2009, students could take out student loans from their neighborhood bank, with interest rates fixed at about 3%. After the Democrat’s socialist government confiscation of America’s student loan programs, interest rates jumped to 8.5%. So stop the talk about taxpayer-funded “loan forgiveness.” Make the students or the colleges pay back those loans.

JTF — The Presidential Records Act was put in place after Nixon. Prior to the PRA, Presidents could keep Presidential records. The PRA was put in place to require POTUS to turn records over to the Archives. This is exactly how Trump constantly perverts the truth pretending as though it’s just the opposite.
