The Mercury’s Sound Off for Tuesday, Sept. 12
The bumbling Biden administration is so incompetent that the deficit for fiscal 2023 will be 74% higher than their original budget estimates. The deficit for fiscal 2023, which ends on September 30th, has ballooned to a staggering $2 Trillion under Biden. Yet, President Biden keeps insisting that his failed policies are lowering the deficit. Biden would be charged by the SEC for making false statements if he was a CEO in the private sector.

Where but in Philadelphia would they have a police chief named Outlaw?

Who could have predicted that allowing all of the illegals to enter the country would lead to problems with housing, feeding, educating, and ultimately paying for them? Every single conservative, that’s who. Duh!

Bidenomics is working just the way it was designed. A new survey finds that 61 percent of American families are living paycheck-to-paycheck. Credit card debt has topped 1 trillion dollars, which means families are using credit cards to pay for groceries and utilities. Well done Democrats. Keep printing worthless money.
Captain America
It doesn’t matter what Democrat voters want. The DNC will tell them who to vote for — and they will.
We are spending billions on Biden’s border crisis and all his illegals while our poor communities stay poor and our homeless stay homeless. Good job Dems and good job Brandon!

Ref. Social Security. In 1994 I worked for a company in an area that closed its doors. When I received my 1994 report from Social Security it showed no earnings. I called S/S to ask how that could be. They said I should send a copy of my 1099 to credit my earnings. I did that and received credit for 1994. What happened to the money deducted from approximately 160 other employees but not reported?
George Bush described Ukrainian President Zelenskyy as “the Churchill of our time.” To the best of my recollection, Churchill never portrayed a transvestite for laughs and a paycheck. Nor was his security apparatus labeled “openly neo-Nazi” by The New York Times or accused by international watchdogs of torture and human rights abuses. As in Iraq, what Bush finds palatable in Ukraine are hundreds of thousands of unnecessary deaths and displaced millions.

I am so sick of seeing Biden’s smiling face when asked a question. He can’t answer anything unless it is written out for him. Has there ever been a year where there is no presidential debate? You watch, there is no way Biden will be able to debate. He is an embarrassment to this country.

Republicans don’t need to impeach Biden to get the desired effect. Just initiate the impeachment procedure which gives Congress much stronger investigative power allowing Comer to get the powerful evidence that finishes off Joe in the court of public opinion.

Radical Republicans crash the economy, and then blame the person who fixes it for the conditions that come along with a recovery. Obama wouldn’t have had a recovery if the economy hadn’t crashed under G.W. Bush, and Biden wouldn’t have had a recovery if the economy hadn’t crashed under Trump. Radical Republicans cause the problems, Democrats fix them.

People are a great puzzle, many live paycheck to paycheck. The fire in Maui devastated the area and multi-millionaires Oprah and the Rock started a fund with $5 million each and asked the public to also donate. the internet people explode with criticism because Oprah and the Rock didn’t donate enough of their paychecks.

I was considering an all-vegetarian diet but it turns out you’re not allowed to hunt them.
Bill Wilson
Patriot54, enough defending public schools, blaming Republicans! Public schools push Liberal policies over STEM! DEI CRT prevails over subject matter that actually matters! private and home-schooled excel beyond those in the public system! They graduate and can’t do basic math! At a local merchant, the young man had to get out his phone to subtract $11 from $21! Fix public schools! School Choice Nationwide! It’s that easy!
Just the facts!
Let’s be clear: Biden did not indict Trump. Jack Smith did not, Merrick Garland did not, and Democrats did not indict Trump. A grand jury of Trump’s peers indicted Trump. Regular people, who went to jury duty, reviewed the evidence of Trump’s alleged guilt and issued an indictment. The truth matters.

Two of Trump’s best friends, Kim Jung Un and Vladimir Putin are getting together for a meeting. They probably won’t be discussing how much they love the United States. Trump’s kind of people.
I’m tired of hearing about all the crimes the Biden’s committed. I want to see raids, indictments, handcuffs, convictions, and jail time. The Republican Party needs to start playing like America’s life depends on it.
Patriot45
The Moderate: Your heart is in the right place, but your facts are inaccurate – “… in 2016 less people disliked Trump than Clinton ….” In 2016, Clinton won the popular vote by 2,868,686. Even then, the American majority recognized who and what Trump was. You don’t vote for a President, you vote for an Elector. Do you even know that Elector’s name? End the Electoral College.
When Sen. Fetterman had his stroke and subsequently the required therapy, the Republicans shamed him and said he should step down. When Sen. McConnell had a concussion and subsequently lingering difficulties, President Biden sent best wishes and a quick recovery to the senator. It is good to know decency and respect still exist in our country.
Jay Miller
The transition from democracy to dictatorship doesn’t happen overnight. It starts with people’s submission to accept less freedom in exchange for economic favors now. It gets worse when gov’t. starts violating the rights of the few on behalf of the many. By the time average citizens realized they had forfeited their God-given liberties to a criminal regime whose promises were worthless, it was too late.

Alzheimer’s Joe reportedly visited the Burning Man disaster. He arrived in Marine 1 and promised the people America’s full support in recovering from this tragedy. He related the story of his near drowning to them, in true fashion. He said that fell asleep in his beach chair on the beach in Rehoboth and the tide came in and lapped his feet. He almost lost his beach towel and his sunscreen. God save the queen.

So a male, coaching a girls’ sports team in Gettysburg, is using the same locker room as his young female players. Oh wait, never mind, he’s transgender. Just look away, girls.
The name of the game is to vote. Vote for the individual, not the party.

I just saw clips of concession speeches by George Bush, Al Gore, John McCain, and Hillary Clinton; they expressed regret at losing and wished the victor and country well-being. Just like Trump? the antithesis of respect and the fomenter of discord within the country is still devastating. Very poor loser and a very poor character. Please defeat Trumpism.
Jim Tribbett
There are two types of people who vote Democrat. Those who rely on handouts to live, and those who are so wealthy they can afford to “virtue signal” politically. There is only one type of person who votes Republican. They want an unfettered chance at personal/private success without having to pay for the failings of others.

Democrat Mayor Eric Adams of New York City has spoken out forcefully against illegal immigration this past week. I am wondering if Adams, who is Black, is campaigning to replace Larry Elder as the new face of “white supremacy.”

I’ve always enjoyed visiting zoos. The only difference I’ve found between northern zoos and those in the south is the southern zoos have a description of the animal, along with a recipe!
