Tompkins Insurance receives ‘Best Practices’ agency designation
WYOMISSING — The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America has designated Tompkins Insurance Agencies as a “Best Practices” agency. It is the fifth consecutive year the firm has been recognized as part of the annual national study.
Tompkins Insurance was one of 282 agencies that qualified for the designation, and chosen from more than 2,600 independent agencies nationwide that were nominated, according to a press release.
“The five-year milestone is significant and tells us that our goal of serving communities within Western New York, Central New York and Southeastern Pennsylvania with personalized, premium and local services is working. And we will continue working to serve those clients well in the many years to come,” David S. Boyce, president and CEO of Tompkins Insurance, said in a statement.
An independent insurance agency offering personal and business insurance and employee benefits services, Tompkins Insurance operates six agencies in Pennsylvania, including two in Berks, three in Montgomery and one in Schuylkill counties.
The study has been conducted annually since 1993 through a collaboration between the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America and Reagan Consulting of Atlanta, Ga. Each year, the study looks at independent insurance agencies across the country, focusing on their business practices — including revenue growth and profitability, financial stability, expense management, and sales and operations productivity.
The firm is part of Tompkins Financial Corp. and is also affiliated with Tompkins Community Bank and Tompkins Financial Advisors, both operating in Western New York, Central New York, Southeast Pennsylvania and New York’s Hudson Valley. According to the company, Tompkins Insurance was recently ranked by Insurance Journal No. 79 of the Top 100 commercial insurance agencies in the U.S.
