Translogistics Inc. relocates headquarters to Chester County
UWCHLAN TOWNSHIP — Logistics and transportation solutions provider Translogistics Inc. has relocated its corporate headquarters to Uwchlan Township in Chester County, moving into its new space, 1 E. Uwchlan Ave., effective Oct. 1.
For the past 11 years, the company had leased office space at the Matthew Brooke Professional Center on Furnace Street in Birdsboro .
The move is a strategic one, according to the company, providing Translogistics a geographic advantage to meet the needs of its clients.

“It is more centrally located to the greater Philadelphia market and positions us in an even better location to respond to the dynamic demands of the shipping industry,” Ron Chelli, Translogistics’ president, said in a statement. “This expansion is a testament to our commitment to our customers and partners while strongly supporting our team’s desire for excellence and growth.”

Plans for the relocation began in April, according to Joseph McDevitt, director of marketing and business development for the company.
“Translogistics relocated largely because of client feedback,” he said in an emailed response to questions. “Our new location is right off the turnpike and closer to key accounts. The second reason TLI moved was to recruit top talent in Chester County.”
Translogistics has consolidated two separate suites in the new building, totaling 4,100 square feet. McDevitt said that while the Birdsboro location had more square footage, the new layout is more open, which will increase productivity.
The new headquarters at East Uwchlan Avenue and Route 100 features state-of-the-art facilities and amenities, offering an improved working environment for Translogistics’ team of supply chain professionals, the company said in a release.
McDevitt added that the company has hired employees across the country post-COVID-19. The Chester County office will make the experience for traveling clients and employees more convenient.

“The new headquarters in Exton will not only be much nicer for our team but also provide a more accommodating environment for our expanding business,” Ben McDevitt, Translogistics’ director of IT, said in a statement. “This move aligns perfectly with our vision for the future, and we look forward to achieving even greater success from this new vantage point.”
A smooth transition
Joseph McDevitt added that as the time for the move approached, steps were taken to ensure employees, clients and vendors would not be disrupted. Employees were given weeks of advanced notice to gather their belongings to relocate and a moving company was engaged to move the office furniture.
Sensitive documents were personally transported to the new office by members of the executive team, and clients were provided notification via their dedicated account managers, he said, adding that vendors were also given plenty of notice to ensure they made the address change in their systems.
Since the move, McDevitt said many clients have visited the new office for a tour.
Translogistics Inc. was founded by Scott McDevitt in 1994. In an interview with MediaNews Group in May 2022, McDevitt described Translogistics as a travel agency for freight, helping shippers manage their freight programs and making them more efficient while reducing costs. In recent years, he said the company added a brokerage department and an international component, increasing its customer base and enabling it to expand operations.
That growth, he said, has been intentional and well-planned.
In 2022, Translogistics Inc. was named in the No. 1 spot on the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance Business Excellence awards, up from the ninth spot in 2021.
The company serves a range of shippers routing freight across 53 industries, offering freight routing, TMS technology innovation, freight bill auditing and freight claim management.
Joseph McDevitt said the company is looking to expand its talent pool and is looking specifically for experienced sales representatives, along with truckload brokerage representatives.
