Twin Valley School District superintendent leaving his post in June
The Twin Valley School District is changing leadership.
In a message sent to parents Thursday, school board President Gary McEwen announced that Dr. Patrick Winters will be leaving his post as superintendent at the end of June.
The message does not provide a reason for Winters’ impending departure, and district officials declined to provide further comment Friday. Winters was unavailable for comment.

An action item about Winters’ departure will be included on the Feb. 20 school board meeting agenda.
Winters has served as superintendent since April 2021. His contract is set to expire June 30.
McEwen’s statement says the district is working on a leadership transition plan.
“We understand the impact this news may have on our district and the community, and we want to assure you that the Twin Valley School District School Board is committed to ensuring a smooth transition to new leadership,” the message reads. “In preparation for the expiration of Dr. Winters’ contract on June 30, 2024, we are proactively developing a comprehensive transition plan.”
The message goes on to say the district will conduct a national search to identify a highly qualified candidate to fill the position of superintendent. Further details on the search and transition plan will be provided in the near future, the message says.
