White Horse Village gets five stars for care and service

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) awarded White Horse Village in Edgmont Township, Delaware County, a five-star rating for outstanding care and service.

CMS created the Five-Star Quality Rating System — recognized as the gold standard in quality and safety rankings — in 2008 to help consumers, families and caregivers compare nursing homes. The five-star rating is the highest possible rating.

Nursing home ratings are based on performance in three areas: health inspections, staffing and quality measures. CMS provides a star rating for each area, and the three ratings are combined to calculate an overall rating. White Horse Village’s Healthcare Center received five stars in all three domains.
